I’ve had moles or beauty marks on my face for most of my life. You can see it change from age six, 12, 17 in the photos above. I thought they made me unique. But they also got kind of annoying, and I’d get lots of questions about them. 

So when a doctor recently told me I should get them checked out, I made an appointment with a plastic surgeon. I went in for a consult and he happened to have an opening the next day. 

And just like that, they were gone. It was painless. Wearing bandages on my face was the most annoying part of it all. I made up a lot of silly stories to tell the kids at scouts or school. Like that I got in a fight with a snake or I got a tattoo. 

Good news is that the test results were all clear and that insurance covered it. The redness and scars should fade and heal well, the doctor said. So far some of the spots are not even noticeable. A few of the larger spots are blotchy and dry.

It’s so weird to see a new face in the mirror after all these years! Hope you all still recognize me!
