I’m excited about spring because I can start wearing some of my nerd style dresses! I call my style librarian fangirl. Fashion has come so far this last decade when it comes to women’s fandom styles and plus sizes. 

Two of my favorite places to shop are Torrid and Her Universe. I’m not affiliated with these shops. I just love their vibe and their clothes. Also, the sales! 

Her Universe was created by Ashley Eckstein, the voice of Ahsoka Tano on the Clone Wars. She was tired of wearing men’s t-shirts to celebrate fandom. So she created a really cool business that went from a few brands to tons of licensing from Studio Ghibli, Marvel, Star Wars and Star Trek. They’ve even expanded into Our Universe, with clothes for the guys. Hot Topic bought the brand a few years ago and it’s only blown up since then. Most of the styles from Her Universe range from size XS to a 3 Plus. 

Torrid is a plus size women’s store that’s fun and trendy. I don’t feel like I’m buying clothes my mom would wear. The store also uses real women as models. They offer sizes 10-30.

I love when you subtly wear your fandom and still look amazing. This Snow White and the Seven Dwarves Poison Apple Dress dress is so classy and just hints that you might be an evil queen.

Here’s a dress for fans of My Neighbor Totoro! Her Universe carries all kinds of Studio Ghibli styles and accessories.

What’s your Hogwarts House? You can support your house at the pool or beach this summer. This suit comes in Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff in all the sizes.
