Hi, I’m Robin! There are just so many things that I love and obsesses over that I started this blog because my family has no idea what I’m talking about half the time. I don’t just like Star Wars and Doctor Who. Or Thor. Or Hamilton. Or hobbits and wizards. Or John Green’s books. I fall deeply in love with all of these things for life and devote way too much time to thinking about them and absorbing everything I can about them.
I live in New Jersey, I’m an aunt to five awesome kids, and I have a pug, Penny. We have a YouTube channel called Robin & Penny, where I share my love of stuff like movies, toys and adventures. I do the work. Penny just looks cute.
A few years ago, I started living what I call my nerd life. I wasn’t happy with my life or my job. I made an effort to go on more adventures and travel. I got new clothes with my favorite characters and I wore them anywhere. I made videos with my best friend about toys. For my 40th birthday party, I had a big Star Wars party with light sabers and an R2-D2 cake. I made everyone hum the Imperial March instead of Happy Birthday.
Nerd life is not just about being a fan and going to comic con, but about embracing the stuff you love and breathing it in. You boldly go. You carry your friends, when you can’t carry their problems. You drink and you know things. Your family don’t end in blood. You let it go.
It’s not easy, but I try. No, I don’t try. I do. There is no try.
